Ultimate Reward Rebates
- Earn 1% cash back credited to your card from purchases at participating merchants.
- Earn from 15% to 25% Reward Dollar rebates on card purchases from participating merchants depending on your card member benefits.
- Earn 3% to 5% Reward Dollar rebates at all other (non-participating) merchants.
Reward Dollars
Each Reward Dollar is valued at $1.00 and is applicable towards payment of purchases. Reward Dollars have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. Reward dollars do not expire, but you must maintain a cash balance on your Discover debit card in order to earn Reward Dollars and redeem Reward Dollars towards the payment for purchases. The annual card membership fee, if applicable, must be current.
Deposits
Your Reward Dollar rebates will deposit to your card account automatically at the time of purchase. Rebates will typically apply to your account within 30 minutes from the time of purchase, but deposits could take as long as 24 hours. In the event you do not receive a Reward Dollar deposit to your account within 24 hours from the time of purchase, please send an email to rebates@rewardcity.com with the name of the merchant, date and time of the transaction and the transaction amount, so that we can credit your account accordingly, which could take up to 5 business days.
Adding Funds
You can add funds to your card account at any time by using a credit or debit card for a funding source. You can also schedule direct deposits to your card account by completing a Direct Deposit form.
Redeem Reward Dollars
Starting at $1, you can redeem Reward Dollars towards purchases only at Participating Merchants, who accept 15%, 20% or 25% of the purchase amount (excluding tax and gratuities if applicable) in Reward Dollars towards payment of your purchase. The percentage of Reward Dollars you can use towards the payment of purchases will depend on your card member benefits.
Preferred & Elite Discover Ultimate Rewards Cards
Members receive an instant issue Virtual Discover Card that can be used for online purchases, as well as a physical plastic card in the mail within three weeks from date of order. The annual card fee of $19 or $39 will be waived for your first year of membership upon payment of $7.95 for postage and handling. You will receive a $50 Reward Dollar rebate credited to your card after your first purchase (in addition to the Reward Dollar rebate for your purchase).
Free Discover Ultimate Rewards Cards

There is no annual fee for free card accounts, but there is a fee of $7.95 for postage and handling. Free accounts do not receive a $50 Reward Dollar rebate credited to your card after your first purchase.
Account Status
You will not receive or be able to redeem Reward Dollar rebates if your account is closed or is no longer in good standing, or you are no longer a Card Member of the Reward Rebate program.
